My Directing

The Baltimore Waltz
by Paula Vogel
Baldwin Wallace University
I was selected to direct the student production for BW's official 2024-2025 season. I am so proud of the work I did in directing this play. For one, it is one of my favorite scripts I have ever read. Paula Vogel is a genius with poignant and witty social commentary. She wrote this play after her brother died of AIDS-related complications. It focuses on a brother and sister, but it is the sister who gets sick with an incurable disease. The play is a satire that demonstrates the hypocrisies of the approach to AIDS epidemic, but it becomes very real at the end. As someone with brothers, it struck me to my core. Directing this play taught me some invaluable lessons and gave me the opportunity to shape something with a wonderful team of people!
Enjoy the Silence
by Greta Bedell
Baldwin Wallace University
This short play was written by my peer and friend Greta Bedell. I directed it as part of the New Works Festival, which was produced and run by only students. I worked with a cast of five to follow the life of a passionate girl as she grows up. She is silenced enough that she decides to never speak again.

Rapture, Blister, Burn
by Gina Gionfriddo

I directed two scenes from this play for an independent honors course at my college. My assignment was to complete all the research and paperwork required for a director's book and then apply it. I was so drawn to the clever conversations this play held on feminism and womanhood.
